These days Ukrainian writer Victoria Belim (The Rooster House: My Ukrainian Family Story) has little if any time for writing or even reading.
After many years spent in Ukraine, Chicago and Brussels, Belim has lived since April in the frontline city of Kramatorsk, key target of the Russian offensive aimed at conquering the whole of the Donetsk oblast.
Belim is now working with the Kramatorsk Volunteer Organisation (KVO), which evacuates civilians, transports people to hospitals, and responds to emergencies in Kramatorsk and vicinity.
Belim will cover the extremely difficult situation in the city and the work and needs of the KVO in supporting resistance and survival under unending Russian bombardment.
She will specifically explain the KVO’s fundraising campaign for an ambulance to act as a humanitarian evacuation vehicle in areas threated by Russian assault.
